LEGO Auspicious Dragon – Features
LEGO Spring Festival Auspicious Dragon figure 80112 is a majestic interpretation of the traditional slithering, serpentine dragon from Chinese mythology. The model includes a tilting head and opening mouth and exclusive printed elements for the scales and eyes to give it a unique aesthetic.
The beast rests on a rock in the ocean, with room in front for the display plaque printed in traditional Chinese script. Gripped in the creature’s claws, collectors will spot a small blue orb – Asian dragons are often depicted holding a ball in this way to symbolise the Earth and the dragon’s contribution to governing the universe with wisdom and goodwill.
When viewed from different angles, the model presents a strikingly colourful image, combining the blue of the sea and white foaming waves with the creature itself and the streaks of fire below its body. The set also includes an illustration and description of the Auspicious Dragon’s significance to the Chinese New Year period.
