Happy New Year – Our Favourite 2023 LEGO Sets

THE IDISPLAYIT TEAM PICK OUR THEIR FAVOURITE LEGO MODELS FROM THE YEAR GONE BY

Happy New Year from iDisplayit

Today’s our last day before the New Year weekend, so let us take a moment to wish you a happy and prosperous 2024. We look forward to joining you for another year filled with amazing display products and fun releases.

It’s been a fantastic year for LEGO, with old themes renewed, enough Star Wars sets to fill a cantina, and the reveal of new ranges such as LEGO DreamZzz. 2024 also looks to be equally epic for brick enthusiasts, with new themes like Animal Crossing on the way and plenty of other upcoming releases to look forward to.

But before we start to look ahead too far, let’s take a moment to look back. As tradition dictates, we asked the iDisplayit office team to pick out their favourite LEGO models from 2023, and there were some interesting choices.

Here’s what they selected…

LEGO Concorde

LEGO Icons Concorde 10318

Chosen by our Director.

iDisplayit’s director never got to fly for real on the iconic, now-retired Concorde aeroplane, so getting the LEGO version in September was the next best thing. The sleek, elongated design lends this distinctive airliner an extremely smart and stylish aspect, realised through a rarified assortment of LEGO bricks and elements.

Here’s the model displayed in our Concorde Display Case for LEGO 10318, including a printed background of an airfield. You can also purchase a clear display stand to replace the stock LEGO one included with the model or invest in our exclusive wall-mounted version.

Make sure you also stay tuned for our wall-mounted display case, which will be landing on the tarmac in early 2024!

LEGO Disney Minifigures

LEGO Minifigures Disney 100

Chosen by our Marketing Manager.

Our marketing wiz went with the Disney 100th anniversary selection of minifigures, primarily for the awesome Baymax and Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey, two of their favourite characters. If you were lucky enough to get all the collectable characters in the mystery bags, then there are also plenty of other villains, heroes, and heroines from classic films such as Robin Hood, Snow White, Pinocchio, and 101 Dalmatians.

Looking to display your top LEGO minifigures? Grab a wall-mounted or tabletop minifigure display case for your favourites.

LEGO Chewbacca

Chewbacca 75371

Chosen by our Operations Manager.

Our operations manager loves the Star Wars Original Trilogy and couldn’t wait to get hold of his favourite character; the famous Wookie originally dubbed a ‘walking carpet’ by Princess Leia. The Chewbacca LEGO model divided some fans but is certainly interesting to look at, with a clever assortment of textured brick elements making up the thick fur.

LEGO Rivendell

The Lord of the Rings Rivendell 10316

Chosen by our Copywriter/Marketing Assistant.

Our resident Lord of the Rings enthusiast chose March’s Rivendell model; the first LEGO LOTR set released since 2014. The stunning set perfectly captures the mystical elvish kingdom, with colourful tree elements, rooftop tiles, and enough detail to enrapture any Tolkienite. Our favourite part would have to be the LEGO Minifigure-style elvish statues at the tower’s base and the intricate white gondola where Arwen debated with her father, Elrond, on whether they should join the war against Sauron.

Check out our special display case and printed background of the hidden valley, the ideal accompaniment to such an eye-catching set.

LEGO Venator

Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser 75367

Chosen by our Office Assistant.

Our latest team member chose the red and grey capital ship from the prequel era, as used by the Galactic Republic. In their own words, this was the ship they were looking for, as they were a huge fan of the Clone Wars animated series (which originally ran for five seasons before making it onto Netflix and Disney+ in more recent years). With its characteristic size and design, this was a model to rival the Imperial Star Destroyer for the title of most epic LEGO Star Wars starship.

Check out our range of display cases and stands for the LEGO Venator set, including other Star Wars The Clone Wars collectibles.

Ahsoka Tano's Starfighter

New LEGO Displays For 2024

Plenty of exciting new products are on their way next year, including the above stand for Ahsoka Tano’s starfighter, which allows the flight wings to be displayed at multiple angles. Head over to the coming soon page to stay informed and register your interest.

We look forward to welcoming you back to iDisplayit in 2024 and thank you for your continued custom.

See you on the other side of New Year!

Happy New Year
