The LEGO Icons Back to the Future Time Machine 10300 is the definitive brick-built model of the famous time-travelling DeLorean car from Robert Zemeckis’s Back To The Future trilogy.

How To Display Your LEGO DeLorean Time Machine

“Since when can weathermen predict the weather, let alone the future?” — Doc Emmett Brown.

One of the most familiar recurring locations in all the films is the famous Hill Valley clocktower, which we have recreated over three distinct periods.

In Back To The Future – Part One, the Doc takes advantage of Marty’s prior knowledge of a lightning strike on the tower in 1955 to give the time machine the power surge it needs to take the young McFly back home to 1985. This event is foreshadowed in the 1985 present day at the start of the film, when a campaigner shoves a collection tin in Marty’s face, demanding a donation to “Save the clocktower!” from the same storm damage, which was never fixed.

In Back To The Future – Part Two, Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown travel forward to 2015 and alter history, so Biff Tannen’s grandson Griff and his cronies crash into the clocktower (now a futuristic shopping mall) instead of Marty’s misled son. This event occurs in the film’s opening act after an epic hoverboard chase scene between Marty-in-disguise and Griff.

In Back To The Future – Part Three, Marty and the Doc find themselves back in the old wild west, where they witness the clock tower first being constructed. Biff’s great-grandfather, criminal outlaw Buford “Mad Dog” Tannen, tries to hang Marty from the rafters before the Doc saves him.

The clocktower has been replicated over all three time periods, with a printed background for the 1955, 2015 and 1885 versions (all pictured above).

If you’re looking for another iconic backdrop from the first Back To The Future movie, check out the Lyons Estate scene, complete with the classic 50s upbeat American advertising hoarding Marty uses to conceal the vehicle when he accidentally travels back to 1955.

Lyons Estate features in all three films – in this version, the “home of tomorrow” is in the early stages of construction. Beyond the unfinished lion statue gates, the undeveloped greenbelt land stretches into the distance, soon to be filled with new suburban homes.
