About us
iDisplayit - Celebrating 17 Years
This year is our 17th anniversary of supplying professional display solutions to both customers and the retail industry.
Who we are
iDisplayit is a website brought to you by Pure Display Limited, specifically dedicated to supplying high-quality acrylic display cases for LEGO and other collectibles.
We were the first UK manufacturer to create bespoke display solutions for LEGO and have extended our collection to Hot Toys and other collectibles. It all started with a love of LEGO Modular Buildings and took off from there – we now have one of the largest ranges of bespoke display solutions worldwide and our collection of cases, stands and furniture keeps growing.
Our passion for all things collectable means we will always provide you with the highest quality products, combined with exceptional customer care.
The iDisplayit Difference
We are a family-run business, that cares about our products and our customers. We design and manufacture our products in-house at our UK warehouse, where we pay meticulous attention to detail at every step of the process.
From product concept all the way through to packaging, we do all we can to ensure our customers have the best experience possible. We put a lot of thought into our products and processes to achieve the best prices and still maintain a high standard of quality.
Our Products
- Made in the UK - Unlike most products that you find in the shops, we design and manufacture our products in the UK, by our skilled workforce. Each staff member cares about how their role will affect your experience.
- Best Quality Products - From design to quality control. We design products that are suitable for low run production and we have multiple quality checks to make sure mistakes are rare.
- Unique Design - We designed our own flat-packed fittings. They use less screws and are more subtle, since they are made from clear plastic. Most other designs use the standard off-the-shelf metal blocks, which stand out and require multiple small screws.
Our Service
- Best Customer Service - Real people who care about delivering you the best product and service.
- Realistic Lead Times - We usually overestimate our lead times, so you're more likely to receive your order before our estimated times. If we run over time, we always get in touch to let you know what's happening.
- Future Support - If your display case should get damaged in the future, rest assured you can easily purchase replacement parts, so you don't have to buy a whole new case.
Our History
The start of our adventure begins..
It all started a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… (well, maybe not that long ago!)
Our journey started in 2006 when we set up Pure Display Limited, a family-run business providing display solutions for retail stores. Over the years we decided to start manufacturing our own products, so we could guarantee the quality of what we were supplying.
When we weren’t in the office, we were focusing on our hobby – building LEGO! As our collection continued to grow, dusting the sets became a nightmare. We started researching for a product to keep the models protected, but nothing existed for individual LEGO sets.
That’s where our passion started to take over, as we looked for a way to turn our disorganised hoard into an organised collection…
The story unfolds.
As we were already manufacturing acrylic, we started working on a design for the LEGO Modular Buildings and created our first prototype, a clear acrylic case that was held together by glue.
We thought this was the perfect solution so decided to sell it on our Pure Display website. It was only when we started selling them, that we realised the issues. A lot of the cases were breaking in transport as the glue wasn’t strong enough and the shipping costs were excessive because of the size of the box.
If at first, you don’t succeed…
Learning from our mistakes, we returned back to the drawing board and created our second prototype, an acrylic case with hooks.
Using hooks meant no glue was needed and the case could be sent flat-packed to reduce shipping costs. Our first hooked design was for the LEGO Emerald Night Train Set. We started making hook displays for other sets whilst also looking at ways to improve the design. This new design was stronger than using glue, but it wasn’t easy to handle as the hooks could fall out of the slots when the case was picked up.
Third time lucky?
We wanted to improve on our existing design and soon we had our breakthrough idea: developing our own fittings. This is something 100% unique to us and what we still use today.
Our Mission
It was in 2015 that we turned our passion into the business you know as iDisplayit – true collectors who pride ourselves on the design and quality of our cases.
We understand the real emotional value that comes with the items you collect. We want to help protect and display them in the coolest way possible. Our display cases are designed, developed and manufactured in the UK, to an extremely high standard of quality. A great deal of care is taken to quality check each product and ensure sufficient packaging is used for both local and international shipping.
Expanding the Range
In 2021, we created our first display case with a vinyl background and floor for the LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon. To make things straightforward for the customer, we ensured the vinyl would arrive pre-applied to the acrylic (unlike other brands), offering a whole new dimension to creative display possibilities.
This got our artistic juices flowing, so we created more printed backgrounds for a whole range of sets. These incorporated beloved franchises and themes such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, Disney, Ghostbusters, and Nintendo, in addition to stand-alone displays for epic sets such as the LEGO Motorised Lighthouse 21335 and the LEGO VW Camper Van 10279.
We always wanted to ensure that LEGO sets with power functions could be easily operated, even with a display case over the model. With this in mind, we designed innovative doors on display cases for sets such as the LEGO Loop Coaster 10303 and LEGO Ferris Wheel 10247.
In 2022, we created our first display options to include effects, text and designs printed directly onto the acrylic. Our flagship range in this new style included 13 wall-mounted displays for the LEGO Architecture series. 2022 also saw the release of our LEGO Minifigure display cases, allowing up to 100 minifigures to be displayed on a wall or tabletop using ground-breaking new transparent acrylic tiers to hold the models in place.
In 2023, we created an advert in Blocks magazine to introduce our new range of timber bases, available for a selection of our most popular display cases including the LEGO Titanic and Hogwarts Express Collectors' Edition. Since then, we have expanded the range to include the Disney Castle and Orient Express.
In 2024, we have many new and exciting announcements coming their way. We’ve come a long way since our first display case, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
